Online Session 1: FOUNDATION OF DISCERNMENT
- Foundation of Discernment – Our Response-Ability to God
Any desire or act of discernment begins and ends with our relationship with God and our response-ability towards Him. Therefore, we are invited to enter into an on-going learning and growing in our ability to notice the presence, work and activity of God in our lives. This foundational aspect is the first step to all who desire to discern. Before one is able to discern for the group, it is important to discern individually. Personal discernment is pre-requisite to communal discernment. Learn to recognize God’s presence in our lives before learning to notice what He is doing in the life of a group or a ministry or even church! How do we recognize God’s presence? What practices help us grow in this awareness of Him and our responsiveness towards Him, personally and communally? How do we listen to Him?
