Synopsis of the Book

Much of our lives tend to gravitate toward the big and spectacular, in work and play.

But what if the most life-changing experiences can be found in the ordinary habits that make up our lives? What if the rich lessons of God's love and redemption can be relived in how we wake up, brush our teeth, or send emails? What if the human habits of drinking tea, sleeping, or losing our keys can remind us of the Good News?

Tish Harrison Warren reflects on our collective daily habits, including how we are already being formed by the habits wrought by digital technology, consumer culture, and mass production. She invites us to lean into the richness of biblical theology and the Christian liturgical tradition, and to discover how its threads are hidden in the tapestry of life.

Who are the Facilitators?

Debbie LohDebbie Loh

Debbie Loh:

Over the last 10 years, Debbie has been involved in nurturing small groups where people share a common desire in seeking God for their lives.

Debbie believes that a richer life in God is first found in being true to ourselves, only to discover our utter belovedness in God’s eyes. Living out of this belovedness is where true transformation and vocational calling takes place. The single most influential question that has pushed her into the deeper waters of her faith is this: “What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” by Mary Oliver.

Debbie is a full-time mother and part-time Ph.D student, and a member of the Order of the Mustard Seed.

Phoebe TanPhoebe Tan

Phoebe Tan:

After some years in the corporate world, Phoebe is now enjoying a season of slow mornings, new rhythms and a deeper faith in the Lord for where He is leading her next.

She’s discovering her heart’s leaning in being closer to community, having spent a few years serving with children and young adults.

This season draws her into a more attentive way of living, and stewardship of all that she has. It is the gentle reminder that “how we spend our days, is indeed how we spend our lives”.

Phoebe enjoys listening to the unique perspectives of others, finding beauty in how they see the world and the stories that shape their walk with God.
